A Table in qoda.ly represents a physical dining area within your restaurant where customers are seated. Each Table is assigned a unique identifier to track orders and facilitate efficient service.
How Tables Work
- Table numbers: Tables are typically assigned numbers for easy identification by staff.
- QR Codes: qoda.ly can generate unique QR codes for each Table. Customers can scan these QR codes with their smartphones to view menus and place orders and pay directly from their table, automatically associating the order with the correct table.
- Order association: When a customer places an order, whether through a waiter or via QR code, the order is linked to their Table in qoda.ly.
- Tracking and management: qoda.ly’s interface offers a visual representation of your restaurant layout, allowing staff to see table statuses (open, occupied, etc.) in real-time.
Best practices
- Clear numbering: use a logical table numbering system that is easy for staff to understand.
- Maintain QR Codes(If applicable): ensure QR codes are clearly visible and functional. Replace any damaged or missing codes promptly.
- Staff training: train staff on how to associate orders with Tables within qoda.ly, whether the order is waiter-entered or customer-initiated through a QR code.
